In case any pilots had been wondering, the WA season has been cancelled.

WTF is going on this year?

Fucking excellent flight Rod, well done. Couple of pretty good saves there as well. You kept that pretty quiet. I would have been shouting it from the roofs.

Was there a big wind shift that changed your path?

You can see from the thermal drift that the wind was pretty much SE all day but flying straight downwind from Bakewell would get you around Toodyay. As it was a weekday Pearce airspace was active until 5pm and the eastern edge runs along the road from Toodyay-Bejording -Bolgart, to just north of Calingiri.
So the plan was to push north X wind and get past Calingiri before running straight downwind
